Rogan's Arrival

Monday came finally! We arrived at the hospital at 7:00am. Grandma came to stay with Grayson for the next 3 days. The day seemed to go by so slow. Grayson was born at 3:03pm on 10/24/05 so when 3:30 came and went, I thought I had a long road ahead of me still. But from 3:30 until 4:00 I went from 4cm to 10cm, Rogan was ready to make his grand entrance into the world. Since I progressed that fast, the epidural could not keep up so the pain became very intense. I was already feeling a lot of contractions before and had to get a large amount of medicine that still was not getting the job done. It was a rough road but we made it! He was born in about 10 min. after the first initial pushing began. Rogan was born at 4:17pm. He was 7lbs. and 3oz and 20in. long. Marc and I were both surprised to see he was a boy. We thought for certain, he was going to be a girl. We were delighted. I can't tell you how happy I am to be the proud mother of two wonderful little boys. There is just something about boys! Rogan has very little dark hair for now, long finger and toes and a great pair of lungs just like his big brother!

Grayson came to see Rogan on Tuesday. He was amazed at his little brother. He just stared at him. Grayson took Rogan's hand and put it into his and just stroked it. He rubbed his little head and held him like 'the proud big brother'. I am feeling pretty good considering. That evening after I had Rogan, I was up and walking. I guess after being in so much pain for so long during my pregnancy, I was relieved to be able to walk and move around. Grandma took such wonderful care of Grayson. They really had a great time together. Since we arrived home, Grayson has really taken well to his new role. He told me today, he wanted to take Rogan to his class and show all his friends, so tomorrow we are taking Rogan into his school for a minute.
