Our Little Scare

The past week, we had a bit of a scare in our household. Grayson has gotten a bad cold (RSV)which he passed along to Rogan. For babies under 6 months of age, it is much more severe. They are at risk for apnea (stop breathing). We took Rogan to the hospital to be looked at for oxygen levels and to be tested for RSV. The ER Dr. said Rogan looked and sounded great even though he was congested and sneezing and coughing. He did the RSV test and said we could leave after the results came back since he thought they would be negative.

To our dismay, his test results came back positive. The ER Dr. and Rogan's pediatrician decided to admit him over night to be monitored. If all went well, we could leave the next morning. Marc and I were so upset! That is not something you want to hear about your child. Rogan did wonderful through the night so the next morning when the Dr. came , we were released. He is still recovering but doing much better!
This season has been such a rough one for every body. We have really tried hard not to take Rogan out much at all and constantly washing hands but with Grayson attending Mothers Day Out on Friday's it has been a battle. Thank God Rogan didn't need to have any iv's or breathing treatments. We have been doing lots of saline solution and using the bulb syringe. He loves that!!

On to better news. Rogan is getting bigger each and every day!! He eats like he has a teenagers appetite! Some nights he sleeps great and others he seems to think it is day (my party baby). He is holding his head up, laughing and SMILING A LOT!! He loves his baths as you can see.
Grayson is wonderful. He tries to help and loves to look at Rogan but not that interested in holding him. It is still hard trying to get everything done and spend quality time with Grayson. Marc and I are doing the best we can and doing a good job working together. I miss my one on one with Grayson but I know 'it won't be like this for long'. It makes me sad to think this is our last baby! He is so precious! We are cherishing every moment. Even the hard times. Like I said, Rogan's schedule is ours and for now, life revolves around him!

Life after Rogan

Well, the new adjustment has been going really smooth. We have been very lucky. Grayson is a wonderful big brother. He is so proud of Rogan and we are so proud of Grayson. He has taken to Rogan and is very protective. It is really cute. He comes in and looks for him every morning. Grayson is also a great helper! The boys schedules seem to be flowing very nicely thus far. That was my biggest fear. We have been on our own now and doing good. I am feeling pretty good. I seem to be healing faster than last time. I think my body just tolerates it better since I have been through it before.
Marc is doing great. He is a wonderful Daddy to both the boys. I couldn't ask for more. He is very patient with all of us. Some times when I get extremely tired, my patience gets a little thin but he still hangs in there right by my side, even through my grumpy moments.
Rogan eats and sleeps great also. Thus far, he has about one night a week when he goes on a eating binge but other than that, he allows me to get a descent amount of sleep between feedings. He usually goes 3-4 hours between feedings. :) Today Rogan is getting his new born pics taken. Yea!! So we shall send those out soon.
