Water fun and saying good bye to school

The boys have been taking advantage of this wonderful weather. The heat is not too bad for us since we just came back from Florida where it is this kind of weather every day. We had to adjust right away or be inside and that's no fun! Grayson's last day of preschool was last week. I know he will miss his friends. He has become close friends with many of the boys in his class and a girl named Kara. His best bud is Owen. Grayosn went to his first out side of class party last weekend. His friend Matthew had a birhtday party and did Grayson ever have fun! That is an under statement! Grayson and Rogan have also been sliding and playing on the 'Slip and slide', and running through the water.

Rogan had his 15 month appointment the other day. He is growing and right where he should be. The doctor was amazed that he can use a spoon and fork and actually get food on it on put it in his mouth. He said most babies don't have the dexterity for that until they are around two. Rogan has also mastered drinking through a straw. He has also discovered that he can smell things with his nose and tries to sniff everything. He likes to sniff and kiss his books now and recently learned to blow kisses. He also can spin himself around which he finds amusing! We have taken away his pacifier now and he is doing pretty well I must say, it has only been day two so we are pretty lucky. I figure better to remove it now while he isn't too attached than to have a huge battle later. Besides, it can also affect his teeth and their positioning, we don't need that.
We are getting ready for the holiday now and Marc's birthday and also Grandpa and Grandma return from Florida next week. My Dad's sister and her family come in also so lots going on in the days ahead. I was able to see a girlie movie with my friend Stacy the other day and have dinner. It was so nice to have a grown up evening. Next week Marc and I will have one for his birthday thanks to the boys Grandparents! :) Off to lunch and play date for the boys with their friend's Palmer and Lily who we have not seen in a while so that should be fun. We are looking forward to the YMCA pool out doors opening on Saturday!!

Rogan's first vacation

We have returned from Florida. The weather was wonderful and we made it there all in one piece. The flight there was any thing but uneventful but the rest of the week was amazing. Grayson did great on the flight there and back. I was so proud of him and considering Rogan is just a baby well he did pretty good also. We had such a great time! Our resort has added a few new things since we last visited. We rode these paddle boats in the shape of a swan on the lake, it was so fun and they also added a dinosaur putt putt course along with a movie theater. One of the evenings, I took Grayson there to see a movie (our date night).

The boys both had a great time at Disney. Our first day in Florida we hung out around our resort recovering from the flight and preparing for our trip to Disney. After a restful day at the pool, we headed over the Market Place at Disney and ate at the new restaurant that is like the Rain Forrest Cafe but all about dinosaurs. The anamatronics were breath taking. Rogan cried not because he was scared but because he did not want to eat for fear he might miss some thing. He wanted to walk around all the different areas and see all the dinos! The food portions were huge and the taste was even butter.

The boys also had breakfast with Minnie, Goofy and Pluto. Marc and I enjoyed it as much as the boys. The breakfast was delicious. The following day, we went to Disney. Grayson was so excited. He and Rogan had their autograph books with them. We took the boys to my favorite ride as a child...'It's a small world'. Rogan just loved it along with big brother Grayson who had already been on the ride his first time to Disney. Rogan also rode the 'Peter Pan' ride and the 'Pooh Bear Ride'. Rogan lasted until about 3:00 which we were very proud of. We headed back for nap and Marc and Grayson went back and headed over to MGM Studios. They were trying to make it until the fire works but Grayson was too tired. Grayson did ride "The Tower of Terry," translation...'The Tower of Terror.' For those of you that do not know what that ride is, look it up! I could not believe Marc took him on that and yes, he told on Daddy as soon as they walked in the door.

We also went to 'Typhoon Lagoon'. I remember going there also with my family and just loving it. We all had a blast! We could not have asked for better weather, maybe a bit cooler but hot and sunny was great! They have every thing one could imagine in a water park and then some. You know Disney... every thing must be like a dream in paradise. We spent lots of time in the water and seeing all the sites on our check list and things to pick up. We had to stop off and get Rogan his own set of Mickey Ears with his name embroidered.
So yes we are home and yes we missed our home but still have Mickey blues. It has been hard this week so far getting back to one set of hands all day instead of two. Marc is always such a big help. Back to the 'real world' in stead of Disney..."Where Dreams do Come True" as they say. You really do feel like a kid again and while we were waiting on the ferry boat to take us to the 'magic island of Disney' they were playing over the speakers the Disney CD we have been listening to for months and dancing to getting ready for our special trip. Grayson is already asking when we are going back. We plan on going again around the same time next year. :) Enjoy the photos of our family memories of our trip to Disney and Rogan's first vacation.
