Yes, with this atrocious heat, we have been swimming a lot at the YMCA. We have been going in the morning until lunch so that we can enjoy being out side with out melting! Grayson has become so good at swimming. He can swim under water by just holding his breath and loves to jump in frontwards and backwards. He also loves diving for toys in the water... all those fun things we all loved to do as kids! Rogan is also my little fish. He loves the baby pool. It is just deep enough that he can sit on his knees and it comes to his shoulders. I love watching him bob up and down and laugh as the water hits his face. Him and Grayson also love the fountains in the baby pool. Rogan gets so excited, shaking and waving his hands at the water! A couple of moms there thought is was so cute how excited he gets! The baby pool is just right for Grayson in that he can swim underwater over there also. It is an event taking them to the pool but they both love it so much and they both do great. We take turns going from the baby pool to the big pool (for Grayson) and they both enjoy the splash pad. Some times we pack a lunch and some times we bring snacks and just head home at lunch time! :) It is so refreshing for all of us being out in the sun and water.
We are just about to complete our summer reading at the library. The boys have had so much fun participating in it and they have gotten great prizes...books, free meal cards and certificates to The Children's Museum 'friendly hours haunted house' that we attend every year!!! Those are just a few of the prizes. Marc and I enjoy reading to them and taking them to pick out new books and prizes!!! It is so important to us to instill how wonderful reading is while they are young so they will grow to love reading as adults too!
I was offered a wonderful position that I had to decline. I was offered a position with a dental program where I would have been over the program. My priority at this time is to be at home with our children but I was very flattered. They also offered me a part time position that did not quite work around Marc's schedule at this time. Luckily, the director of the program was wonderful and wants me to contact her when I am ready to go back to work. I wish the part time teaching would have worked out but every thing happens for a reason and I know God will bring some thing wonderful to me when the time comes. Besides, as some of you know... we may still have one more baby in a year or so! :)
Grayson asked me the other evening if he could count the lines on my head....I did not know whether to laugh or cry at that question. I love his honesty. He is doing great with his glasses! We have had no problems with getting him to wear them at all!!! The doctor said some kids really put up a fight. I feel that Grayson really likes his and realizes how much they help him. Baby Rogan is such a big boy! and yes...still a mama's boy and yes, I love every minute of it! He is amazed that he can climb on things now! He loves climbing on and off the couch and chairs and loves his Colts blanket. He is also in love with Sesame Street and all the characters, Elmo and Cookie Monster are his favorites. We spent today with Grandpa and Grandma for lunch and also saw Aunt Sarah and Justin. We all had a wonderful time! Rogan also loves flavored marsh mellows like big brother as you can see from the first photo of him and daddy sharing one! The boys have also been enjoying their juice pops that we make as pictured by Grayson!! :)
