What an exciting weekend!

What have our boys been up to? Well, let me begin by telling you that Grayson spent the night with Grandpa and Grandma and loved it! He had a wonderful time. Friday night, Grayson ate at Cracker Barrel ( his favorite) with Grandpa and Grandma and made sugar cookies. He also had a jam session with Grandpa with their guitars. Grayson got an electric guitar for his birthday from Grandpa and Grandma. Afterwards, they popped popcorn. Grayson thought it was so neat. He also got to take a bath in their big whirl pool tub!! He loved all the bubbles. Grayson was so excited Friday after nap for them to come and pick him up! On Saturday, Grandma made one of Grayson's favorites, french toast. That morning they all went to see 'Yogi Bear'. What an exciting weekend for big boy Grayson and Grandpa and Grandma, they were as excited as Grayson. We were so proud of him staying the entire night all by himself and sleeping through the night. I told my parents to get plenty of rest the day before because Grayson goes to bed early therefor gets up early....between 6:00 and 6:30. Grayson slept in today after returning from his Grandparent's house. He can't wait to go again!

Big boy Rogan has become completely obsessed with Elmo!!! He loves the movie 'Potty Elmo'. The other evening to our surprise...Rogan peed on the potty for the first time!!! Wow!! We were so proud of him! He also did it the following day as well. Yes, we had to sing and do 'the potty dance'!! for our big boy. Rogan wants to be just like big brother! Rogan is still loving music. He gets his hips and legs going and it is just the cutest!!! His words are just coming along each and every day! He loves to read and pick out the books he would like to read. He is also recognizing his colors. We have been getting ready for his big bash and yes it is going to be an Elmo Birthday! We ordered a Elmo pull apart cupcake cake for him. It is so cute, I can't wait. We are off today to get Rogan a hair cut. This will be his second. Rogan also has his two year pictures coming up. Lots of fun around the corner. Next weekend Grayson will begin soccer! What fun! Our busy Mathias Brothers!

The New Year

Well, the boys had a wonderful Christmas. They baked cookies for Santa the night before his arrival and Grayson sprinkled reindeer food on the lawn. I must say, Christmas is by far, my most favorite time of the year! Not because of the gifts, but just the magic in the air and to be thankful for the birth of Jesus and yes, I love Christmas music! Our boys love it too and like their mother, they are sad when the music ends! Marc and I and the boys had so much fun this year participating in holiday festivities. We can't wait to see what the new year brings our way.
The boys have been enjoying the snow. Rogan just loves it as does big brother Grayson. Marc was out of town for a few days when we got all the snow last week. My boys were the best little helpers any mother could ask for. We went out 2xs a day to shovel, late morning and after dinner. Grayson enjoyed jumping in the snow while Rogan would dive in it on his belly. They know how to make me laugh!
Rogan is coming right along with his words! He handed me the 'George of the Jungle' action figure the other day and said, "Naked!". I was amazed!!! He is loving 'Elmo' right now and 'Bob the Builder' along with 'The Wiggles'. He is following in Grayson's footsteps! He loves play dough and finger paints along with coloring and games and yes he loves music and dancing. So much like his big brother! He still loves his mommy and can't stand to have me out of sight! We are counting down for his big 2 year birthday!!! Where has my tiny baby gone! I must say, unlike Grayson, Rogan loves to take things apart or as I like to call it, baby tornado them, and see how they work. Lots of messes for mommy and keeps me on my toes. I think me and the vacuum have a special bond these days!

Grayson is doing wonderful! They are both growing so much. Grayson has had a few play dates with some of his buddies from school these past few weeks and has gone to one of his friends birthday parties. All the boys from Grayson's class had so much fun! Grayson just loves school and his friends! We just had parent/teacher conferences last week for kinder garden readiness. I am proud to say that Grayson has 'Mastered' (as they call it) every area in preparing for next year!!! We were so proud of him. His writing is getting really good also and he can count to 109!! From the check list we got, he his far beyond ready!! :) It will be very hard for me though to have my baby boy gone every day next year even though it is half day. Grayson is eager to try out soccer next month. He will be playing at the YMCA. He has become our little man over night it seems.

Hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year!
