We are having a wonderful summer! It's time for our monthly update! June has been so busy for us! Grayson just finished baseball and loved every minute of it! The week before last was his last game with trophies and a cook out! Rogan enjoyed attending Grayson's games and cheering him on. Grandpa and Grandma were at all his games also. Grayson loves his sports for certain. Rogan says he wants to play soccer like Grayson this winter! We shall see! As you can see from the photo, Grayson loves building with his legos! He wants to be a 'build master'!
Marc and I just celebrated our 11year anniversary! We had to replace our current refrigerator. Our new one is really nice! Grayson and Rogan love it! It's magic... it shoots water and ice out of the front, wow!!! or so they think. We also bought a swing for our front porch. Marc and I also attended the Kenny Chesney concert which was a blast. All that said, anniversary was money well spent! Refrigerator unexpected but thankful we were able to replace it. Always something when you are a home owner, right! We are now getting ready to paint the porch after repainting much of the inside! We painted all of the house when we first moved in and figured it could use an update! So glad we did , it looks great! Can't wait, I love painting so I don't mind the work and Marc is a wonderful painter also.
We have been so busy with birthdays, mine which makes me all the more closer to 40 (not looking forward to any more bdays) and Marc's and Father's Day and all the other fun summer adventures. We have been to The Children's Museum a lot. That is our favorite with Conner Prairie close behind. We also made a few trips to the zoo to visit the sharks and other animals! We went to Conner Prairie for 'The Civil War Days', so much fun and excitement! We were able to see a calvary and watch the soldiers! Another time we visited, lots of baby animals had been born...so exciting! The boys love the animals encounter barn there. They also just put in another new addition at the prairie, with a huge water table and play area! Fun!
We have been going to the library a lot with summer reading. Our favorite is the Noblesville library. It is so amazing with the fish tank and kids area. My boys love walking down the long staircase to the basement to their area and greeting the fish as they arrive at the bottom. After they greet the fish, it is a mad dash to pick out their reading prizes! We love to pick out new books and head back up the stairs to pick out movies. We also have been enjoying out trips to Forest Park, all of our favorites. It's so pretty with all the tall trees and fun play areas. The best part is the carousel!
We have also been frequently swimming at the YMCA. Not only does it have a great pool for little Rogan, it has a great splash pad and fish Grayson, loves the big pool. They both do well taking turns in their favorite areas. We are quite the tan family as usual in the summer! We load up on the sunscreen!!! Gotta play it safe. The boys love playing out side and during the few rainy days, it's hard keeping them indoors. They enjoy their swing set so much and we have great shade in our back yard with all the trees we have planted over the years! Yes, it would be nice to have our home a little bigger but I would miss our home! I love all our landscaping and beautiful trees. We have planted 11 over the years! I know eventually that day will come when we no longer fit in our home but for now, I am not ready for that! We currently have all kinds of baby birds and nest in our tress and yes, we love watching them. We even have duck families that visit us often because of the bird feeders! We also had a deer come up by our window and visit us earlier this month and a few days later, a coyote stopped by! It's no farm at our house but some days it sure seems like it! Although, beween the time outs and the fighting over who had what toy first, it sure seems like a zoo from time to time! We love to watch the hummingbirds. They boys get so excited when they seem them! We also planted a garden this year and what fun it has been! It is getting a lot of love from everyone! We have cucumbers, jalapenos, tomatoes, squash and green beans and lettuce!!! We are proud. The boys are also very into the 'three R's', reduce, reuse and recycle. If you have a question about what can be recycled and how to save energy, 'The Mathias Boys' can answer your question!
Grayson is getting so eager for kindergarten. He will be attending morning session. For those of you that know how protective and mother hen I am, I could not bare to see him go to all day session! First grade will be the worst for me! I am certain Rogan will enjoy having mommy all to himself but I know he will miss big brother. They are so close and adore one another! Rogan loves to color just as much as big brother Grayson. They both have journals/binders I put all their art work it. Grayson has collected a lot over the years, Rogan is still on his first!
We are looking forward to the fall as we are counting down for our smoky mountain vacation. The boys can't stop talking about it and Grayson already has our Disney adventure next May planned out! We have had so many wonderful memories at both places! We have began planning our Disney adventures with deciding when and where to go! I wish we could just pop in when ever we wanted! Now that truly would be magical! We have been talking about going to the beach while we are in Florida also. We hope you all are enjoying your summer as we are! The boys just keep getting bigger and bigger! I tell them to stop growing in their beds but to no surprise, they do not listen!
