Rogan declares...."No More Diapers"!!!! Yea!!!

The news is Rogan is diaper free now for three weeks! I returned three huge cases of diapers the other night and instead of rejoicing for the fact we will be saving money, it was bitter sweet because he is officially a 'Big Boy'!!! Yes, I am very happy for him and proud!!! He decided all on his own that he was done with diapers! The underwear was too much to resist! When we were at Target, he picked out a new bed comforter and sheets that were Elmo to celebrate his big accomplishment! In case any one has forgotten, our Rogan is the biggest Elmo fan! or so he thinks! He loves his new bedding as you can see from the photos! We snuck in on Grayson and got a picture of him before bed also.

The boys love their art projects and the other evening, they made art in the bath. Grayson drew Super Hero's and practiced his sight words and sentences while Rogan made beautiful all over the walls and floor of the bath with bath crayons!! What fun accept for the person that has to clean it up..mommy!!! Three cheers for mommy! We also made a trip to The Children's museum with Marc last weekend in case you are wondering why Grayson has on snorkeling gear along with the vampire picture on the bench! We have so much fun in the underwater exhibit as you can see.

We went to Conner Prairie for the Country Fair this weekend! We just love that place and have so many wonderful memories! Rogan rode one of the robots that a young girl had made and Grayson drove several of the robots made by teen students! They had a blast! They also picked out their first pumpkins of the season! Grayson met an Egress at the circus tent! Ha! Ha! It was a beautiful day to be out enjoying the weather! Grayson's first field trip is this Wednesday to Tuttle's Orchard which we visit often. So much fun!

The boys had their 6 month check ups this past week and our Rogan has made another leap!! He watched big brother and decided he was going to sit in the dental chair all by himself this time, it being the first time he has done that! Rogan just keeps taking us by surprise as he strives to be just like Grayson and do all those'firsts' so early! Rogan kept telling me he wanted to go home and didn't want to get his teeth cleaned and the very next second, he ran over and hopped in Dr. Kugar's chair! What a big boy he was! We are so very proud of our boys and always want them to know how special they are to us in each and every way! I can't even remember what we did with all our time before God brought them into our lives! We are so lucky they are happy and healthy and that we all work so well together, well most of the time. Marc is so great with them and we make such a great team! I couldn't ask for more!

Fall is in the Air

From this past week, you can tell fall is just around the corner! It's nice to be outside and the weather not be so humid and scorching, now if we could add in a bit more rain and that's my forecast for the day. Rogan has some wonderful and exciting news to share with everyone...he has decided that he's ready to be potty trained!!! yea for Rogan. He loves wearing his underwear! His favorite are the 'Lightning McQueen'. We are all so proud of him. He has completley taken charge of the potty! We are 'celebrating his independence'! He's only had one accident to report in the past week and he was very upset about it. I assured him that he might have accidents and it's OK!!! He just talks up a storm these days. He knows his colors now and is getting close to knowing his ABC's. He is such a big helper also...well, most of the time. Rogan wants to do every thing all by himself and seems to feel an extreme protest must be made should he not get to!

Grayson has already made many new friends in kindergarten. His new best friend is Seth who happens to live on the next street behind us in our neighborhood. Grayson has some great news to share also!!! He has been riding his bike with out training wheels now!!! He can also read a few sentences at a time and can read quite a few books now!!! The other night when I put him to bed, he read, 'Brown Bear Brown Bear' to me all by himself!! I was very proud of our big boy! He keeps talking about his birthday that isn't until next month and also counting down until Halloween. This is my family's favorite time of the year!!! Grayson will be going to one of his friend's from class next weekend to celebrate a birthday. His new friend Caleb is having a 6th birthday party! Grayson is looking forward to that also.

For those of you that don't know, Marc had hernia surgery last weekend. Once they opened him up, they found he had one both on the left and right! He is recovery nicely but is still sore. His recovery is at least ten days and we are on day ten as of today so I would say he has a little ways to go yet. All that working out and lifting heavy objects including our boys!! I must say, it was a bit challenging managing the boys and everything else that goes on around here with out him!! We are very thankful his surgery went well and grateful Grandpa and Grandma were able to help us out with our amazing boys!!! never a dull moment when 'The Mathias' boys are around! We also celebrated our Uncle Ross' birthday over the weekend at my mother's house. It was a very nice lunch and so great to see Uncle Ross who turned 81 last week. All that said, I am ready for fall and and the great things that go along with it. We will be in the Smoky Mountains in a few weeks and will have lots of great times and photos to share. Until then, be happy and love one another!!
