After some lunch we headed to the pool. They had two, the main pool with lots of fun and craziness and the pool my speed ...relaxing with lots of fun bubbles because it was a spa pool. We also found ducks there every day that were very friendly along with a male and female cardinal. Our first day there, we hung out around the resort and played at the pool. We also roasted marshmallows around the campfire on the beach after dinner. What a special treat, Disney doesn't miss a moment when you stay at their resorts. They also showed movies on the beach every night for the children but those started a bit late. Following the movie was a lighted boat parade like the electric light parade on Main Street at Disney World! What memories that brings back. Our resort also had a geyser that went off every hour on the hour! It was next to the pool along the beach.
The next day we took a boat ride to the resort next door, 'The Contemporary' (the first Disney Resort ever built) to have breakfast at 'Chef Mickey' with Mickey and all his friends! Yummy food and great fun! Mickey and his friends come to each table so every family can have their one on one and take pictures. We always bring the boys Disney autograph books along. Grayson had to get a new one this year because his is full, this being his 4th time to Disney World and Rogan's 3rd.
Marc and Grayson went to Universal Studios on Monday while Rogan and I hung out at the resort around the pool and enjoyed lots of time together. We walked along the peer and all over the resort and took lots of wonderful pictures and collected pine cones we brought home with us. Tuesday, we stayed at the resort again to let Marc and Grayson recover from the parks and headed over to Down Town Disney where the boys got to spend their Disney gift cards from Grandpa and Grandma. We also roasted marsh mellows on the beach and played lots of pool games. Grayson loved going down the big water slide at Wilderness Lodge! Marc and I enjoyed it also. We also made our way over to Disney's Board Walk. We went to the bakery and ice cream shop for some yummy treats.
Wednesday we headed over to Magic Kingdom. It was such a 'Magical' day, honestly! We took a boat ride from out resort over to The Land of Magical Memories, Disney World!!!! Our first stop was Fantasy Land where we went on Peter Pan's flight, Rogan's favorite ride followed by 'Its a Small World', my favorite! The day just continues to be better than we could have ever hoped or expected. Rogan did so great. We saw a parade that day too. I was so excited because I haven't gotten to see a parade since before our children. When Grayson was Rogan's age, he was done with the parks after lunch. We try not to push our boys and follow their lead when it comes to the parks so that everyone has a great time. If your drag your little one's around past their limit, that's a disaster for everyone. We have never played that roulettt with our boys. We managed to hit all our favorite places without waits by timing it right.
Thursday, we went to Disney's Animals Kingdom in the morning. It's so pretty there. 'The Tree of Life' sits in the center of the park while the front is covered with huge greenery that shades every thing. After adventuring through Animal Kingdom and boys started getting tired, we decided to leave. On the way to the Disney transportation bus, we decided to head over to Disney's Epcot for lunch and to see the topiaries, my favorite. We ate lunch at a Disney Mexican restaurant. When you walk in, it was dark with stars in the skies and the inside looked like a Mexican village with shops and beautiful lights strung across the buildings. The restaurant had a volcano in it. Rogan has since then told me that's what he want for Christmas, a volcano. I remember eating their with my parents when I was young and thinking it was amazing! After lunch we took a boat ride through the village inside. Next, off to the topiaries and the butterfly garden. So much fun and excitement. Afterwards, Rogan and I decided we were done park hopping for the day and went back home to play and swim. Marc and Grayson headed over to Disney's Holly Wood Studios. Grayson has been talking about the 'Tower of Terror' since last year and the year before and before that! He loves that ride! Marc and Grayson are the ultimate park hoppers this year.
Thursday night, my parents arrived! What excitement. The boys were excited to have them stop in and stay a few nights with us on their way to Vero Beach. Disney has an amazing resort along the beach there. That's where they were headed to for their vacation. Friday, we took it easy and played at the pool a lot, had Mickey waffles for breakfast outside for the last time. Later that evening, we ate at the restaurant at our resort called, 'The Whispering Canyon'. It was so much fun!!!! They take sarcasm to an entire new level. We laughed so hard and had so much fun! We asked for ketchup with our meal and the waitress yelled "Ketchup!!" and the severs came and piled 30 bottles ofketchupon our table. Several people had glasses that were gallon sized and that was because they drank too much. We saw a boy with a fork the size of his chair and she told us it was because he had a big mouth! Not only was it so much fun, the food was great. When another table asked for ketchup all of us had to run it over and stack it on their table!!!! Friday night, Marc and I went down to the beach and watch the lighted boat parade! It was truly another Disney spectacular event! I love this place! They truly make your vacation as spectacular as ever! I can't wait to return next year.
On Saturday morning we headed back home and rode 'The Magical Express' one last time to the airport. The airport went very smooth especially for Orlando. Our flight home was great. We miss Mickey so much but we are glad to be home too!! Next year I turn forty, no old age parties for this mama. I told Marc, I want to go to the happiest place one earth to celebrate....Disney, so see you next year Mickey for my big '4' '0'!!!
