Wow! What an extremely hot summer it has turned out to be! We recently celebrated Marc's 38th birthday and 10 days later, celebrated mine. I turned 39 which this getting older thing has become no longer fun! It's a dreadful inching up to that big '4' '0'! After that, your middle aged! How can this be. Any way, we have had lots of fun this summer! We have enjoyed going to The YMCA to swim and also to the splash pad up the road to meet with Grayson's friends from school and his teacher. She brings books so the former students can check them out and keep reading throughout this summer. We read lots any way between the summer reading at the library and ebooks! It's still fun to see everyone!
We had been going to the parks a lot but now with this heat, being inside or in the water is about the only option. We still find plenty of fun inside like we do when it is winter. I took the boys the other day to pick out new back packs for school. I am beside myself that Grayson will be in 1st grade and away from me for 6 hours every day!!! How will I cope! My Rogan will be in preschool this year as well. It is going to be a rough start this August, not for my boys who will be excited but for their mother!
We have also gone swimming at The Saxony Beach here in Fishers. The boys love it! I love it too because Grayson can go where it is a bit deeper straight out in front of us and Rogan can stay closer to the shore! It's all roped off after 4 feet so I feel very safe with them. They also have 2 life guards present at all times. When we go swimming at The Y, the boys have to split their time between the wade pool for Rogan and deep area for Grayson which Rogan doesn't like as much because he wants to be independent and touch but it's over his head. I must say though, they do great in sharing time which makes life easier for me!

We have also enjoyed the summer concerts Fisher's offers on Tuesday evenings where we go with our friends. It's such a great time and the boys just love it! It's good family fun. The boys enjoy chasing their friend Seth and playing soccer and throwing the football. We bring a huge blanket and yummy snacks. This Tuesday should be wonderful since we are supposed to get a break from this heat! Some rain would be wonderful for us all! Our garden is still doing well but I fear it won't be much longer without all the nutrients from the rain which it desperately needs. We have gotten some huge zucchini and large cucumbers too which I am currently pickling! We sure have enjoyed our garden. We also have some white eggplant just about ready to pick! This has been the hottest summer on record for a long time so surely there will be some relief around the corner. We may need to start doing rain dances!
